Aug. 30, 2006 - Desert View Tree, Grand Canyon
Canon 5D, 24 - 70 mm f/2.8 @42 mm, f/9.0, 1/500 sec., ISO 400, Feb. 2006
The south rim of the canyon has many of these old, weathered juniper trees. This one was taller than most. Note the 2 ravens flying above the tree.
It's also fairly hazy for a cool, February morning. Some say that this haziness is pollution from the Navajo Power Station in Page, Arizona (to the east of the Grand Canyon). I don't know if that's true or not, but it seems like it ought to be a bit clearer on a day like this.
