Sept. 20, 2006 - Mating Great Egrets
Canon 20D, 300 mm f/2.8 with 2X teleconverter, f/5.6, 1/1600 sec., ISO 200, April, 2005
If I hadn't been pointing the camera right at these two, I never would have gotten this shot. From my observations, mating doesn't take very long in the world of Great Egrets. It was over pretty quickly! In mating plumage, they are remarkably beautiful creatures. This picture was taken in a swamp near Charleston, SC.
