For me, this is pretty close to home. Photographically speaking, it's virtually in my backyard. Watkins Glen is one of many New York state parks in the area generally referred to as the Finger Lakes Region. This area was carved by the glaciers some 15,000 years ago. The glaciers left not only the Finger Lakes themselves, but a number of spectacular gorges and waterfalls. Rainbow Falls lies near the top of the primary gorge in Watkins Glen state park. The stream itself empties into the southern end of Seneca lake.
