Sept. 2, 2006 - Sunrise, Stonington Harbor, Maine

Stonington harbor is one of the few "true" working fishing harbors on the Maine coast. Tourists are welcome here (well, most of the time), but they are well advised to stay out of the way. Photographic opportunities are everywhere - simply step out the door and look around. When I look at this image, I can still hear the sounds of boat engines, fishermen talking, and, of course, the ever present herring gulls.
