Nov. 13, 2006 - Bass Harbor Head Light, Acadia NP

Still back in Maine. This view of this light has probably been photographed a couple of million times (I suppose that makes it a cliche). But if you've ever climbed down to this spot, especially in the evening when it's warm, it's a "new" experience. On this particular evening, the mosquitoes were so bad you had to brush them off the front lens element, as well as try to keep them out of your nose and eyes. On the bright side, the light was perfect for highlighting the pink granite that is so common along this coastline.
