Nov. 7, 2006 - First Waterfall

Canon 10D, 20 - 35 mm @ 23 mm, f/8.0, 1/30 sec., ISO 200, May 2004

This photograph is about 2 years old. We had taken two of our grandchildren into the Ithaca, NY area to visit some of the local state parks ("Ithaca is gorges"). When we arrived at Buttermilk Falls (shown here), we discovered that neither had ever seen a waterfall "live". They sat and watched it quietly for a fairly long time before returning to their normal level of high octane behavior. It reminded me that discovery - at any time or place - is one of life's most precious gifts.
