Dec. 11, 2006 - Ugly Anne (Perkins Cove, Maine)

In most harbors, small boats like this one are used to get the owner or "crew" out to where the larger vessel is tied or anchored. The large version of the Ugly Anne (also painted bright red) is a popular tourist fishing vessel that operates seasonally out of Perkins Cove. On this day, though, my interest was primarily on this one. For some reason, the Tide container - probably used to bail water - caught my eye. Some who have looked at this image have urged me to clone it out in Photoshop. I can't do it. It just wouldn't be the same picture without it.
