Dec. 4, 2006 - "Cabbage Plant"

Canon 5D, 100 mm macro, f/8, 1/40 sec., ISO 250, Nov. 2006

In this part of the northeast, "cabbage" plants (I think they're actually Kale) may be one of the last flowers to survive fall freezes. Even snow doesn't seem to faze them. Eventually they will surrender to extreme cold, but I'm impressed with their beauty and their toughness.

This was taken on a tripod, with the camera pointed straight down toward the center of the flower.
