Jan. 12, 2007 - Birdhouse in Snowstorm

It's nearly mid - January in western NY state and winter is still basically a "no-show" in many areas. So we're essentially stuck in an extended "brown season" (since everything is pretty much some shade of brown or gray). The meteorologists tell us that things are going to change very, very soon. Until then, it's back to the archives.
This picture was taken almost 2 years ago in a snowstorm that featured heavy, wet snow. To keep my equipment dry, I used a long telephoto and stood underneath part of my roof! A few weeks later, eastern bluebirds were fighting over the right to seasonal occupancy.
