March 2nd is Independence Day in Texas. It is at this time that they commemorate the fall of the Alamo in 1836. This image was taken as the moon rose over the Alamo, the night before the crowds descended on this place to watch the festivities and reenactments. It really is quite a sight. San Antonio is also, by the way, one of the more interesting places we've ever visited.
