I have always had a childlike fascination with moving water. It can be a small stream, a 300 foot waterfall, or the remarkable ebb and flow of ocean tides on a rocky coast. The fascination, I would guess, is not so much with the water itself but with its effect on the more "solid" materials it does constant battle with. Even when the stationary object is solid rock, the water always "wins". A powerful metaphor for so many things.
