Horseshoe Bend, of course, is on the Colorado River just outside Page, AZ near Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. To get to the overlook, you have to walk about a mile through thick red sand (it's like beach sand, only red). Once you get there, it becomes a question of how far over the edge you want to stick your nose and your camera. It's not a place for people with vertigo. I know it scared the tar out of me. I got this picture by laying on my stomach and inching closer and closer to the edge, until I could clearly see the bottom directly below me.
Even if you're afraid of heights, it's a beautiful sight.
