April 7, 2007 - Storm Approaches Bryce Canyon

On the short drive up to Bryce from Zion ("up" is the appropriate word given the significant change in elevation across 90 miles), we encountered a fair amount of rain mixed with snow. Sometimes it was just snow. This image was taken later the same day as another small system approached Bryce. Actually, this particular "event" missed Bryce entirely.

The light for this photograph lasted only a minute or so. The sun illuminated the foreground structures very briefly and then all was in shadow. You have to be at the right place at the right time........
