While walking on my favorite canal path (small camera in hand), I started to notice the many dandelions that lined the walkway. Some were just starting, some were in full bright yellow bloom, some had turned white and were ready to go to seed, and some had run the complete cycle and were dying. Cycles. Everywhere we look, there are life cycles (including, of course, our own). How else could we measure time?

From the beginning, this image was destined to be black and white. Color just didn't seem appropriate.
