August 6, 2007 - Low tide, Ogunquit Beach, Maine
Canon 5D, 24 - 70 mm f/2.8L @ 38 mm, f/5.6, 1/60 sec., ISO 400
This image is similar to the one posted on Sept. 20, 2006. It's basically the same scene of the Atlantic shoreline, looking east from the Marginal Way in Ogunquit. The previous photograph, however, was taken at sunset and at high tide; this one is at dawn and at low tide. In either case, it's a wonderful place to be. There always seems to be a strong breeze coming in off the water, so the air smells very "salty".
Why am I looking at pictures of Maine? Well, in about two weeks we'll be living in the middle of the Mojave Desert (aka Las Vegas). While there will be plenty of sand there, the air probably won't smell quite the same!
