Oct. 10, 2007 - Rides for Grownups in Las Vegas

Canon G7

While I haven't been there often, I think that the Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is one of the most beautiful on the strip. It has a large "street of shops" in the middle surrounded by some fairly reasonable restaurants and, of course, an indoor canal complete with gondolas and singing gondoliers. It seems to be extremely popular with people of all ages, although my personal perception is that "older" couples are especially drawn to it. There is also an outdoor canal.

The more I explore this fascinating world, the more it strikes me as a giant theme park for "grownups" (with grownup defined as anyone 21 years of age or older). And you'd be amazed, I think, at the number of retirement age people that arrive here daily.
