Oct. 1, 2007 - Fall Display at the Bellagio

Canon G7

On a recent quiet (and relatively cool) Las Vegas afternoon, my wife and I decided to park the car and walk the Strip for a while. We wound up walking to the Bellagio Hotel, mostly because we wanted to see their most current flower display. While all of them - at least those that we've seen - are spectacular, this one kind of reminded us of where we came from, since it's theme seemed to be "Fall in New England". There was a covered bridge, a mill with a large water wheel, about a zillion apples, and, of course, red and gold flowers.

It's often difficult to photograph anything here because of the crush of people. For some reason, though, most seemed to be ignoring this display of water cascading down two large metal leaves into a stream below. To me, the lighting and subject balance seemed about perfect. Thankfully, I had my small "carry anywhere" camera. All I had to do was compose and shoot.
