While hiking out of Pine Creek Canyon a week and a half ago, I heard voices above and behind me. It turned out to be climbers on the rock face in the background (they're not visible in this image). What really interested me, however, was the late afternoon sunlight illuminating the trail section I'd just crossed. Everything else is in shadow or near - shadow. I wasn't sure if I could hold the entire tonal range, but it worked out reasonably well.

I suppose the metaphor here is blatantly obvious, but I don't care. Simple is good, don't you think?
