I think that anyone involved in photography would agree that the more we visit a place, the more we are able to "see" that place. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've asked my wife, "Was that thing there the last time we were here?" Of course, that "thing" was there the last time - I just didn't see it or, more likely, it didn't register.

Return visits to Zion are very much like that. I seem to be starting to get past being mesmerized by the iconic images that everyone sees and everyone photographs. It is, rather, the more subtle compositions that draw my attention and my camera. They may not be any better, but they are at least more uniquely mine.
