It would be a mistake to think that Las Vegas is only about casinos, gambling and partying all night and all day. True, that's why many people come here and that's what drives the economy. But there's a great deal more to this place, including breathtaking beauty.
The Fountains of Bellagio are one such example. On some days, the fountain show occurs once every half hour and it is always well attended (it is, by the way, free). The fountains erupt in intricate and beautiful displays, accompanied by a variety of great music. My personal favorite is a display with "Por Ti Volare" (sung by Andrea Bocelli) playing in the background.
While taking a series of images that includes this one, I was standing next to a mother and her young son. The boy was sitting on the cement wall that surrounds the "lake" and was completely enthralled by the fountains and the music. I honestly thought that the little guy was going to cry when it all ended. But I understood how he felt - it really is that good. So if you're ever in Las Vegas, take a little time and visit the Bellagio. You won't regret it.
