Canon G7
It seems that one of the penalties of going back to work fulltime is a definite decline in photographic field trips. I have the weekends, for sure, but they're often filled with "catch-up" stuff and errands. If I do make it to Red Rock or some other favorite spot, I have to deal with the weekend crowds. Then of course there's the feeling of being on a tight schedule - you know, the feeling of 'get a decent image, stupid, because you won't be able to get back here for at least a week". Yeah, that helps a lot.
If it sounds like I'm whining a bit, I guess I am. But there's hope. If I keep a small camera with me most of the time - even at work - I just might find something interesting. If nothing else, Las Vegas is full of "interesting". I'm guessing, for example, that not many tourists have bothered with this composition. I never would have, either. But when time is scarce, you find yourself looking at virtually everything. You have to replace the "grand landscape" with the "cityscape" or any other kind of "scape" that catches your eye. But that can be a good thing. New opportunities and new visions. We'll see how well I do........
Oh, and I think a Canon G9 might be in my future. The G7 is a great little camera, but you really gotta have that RAW capability, you know?
