June 26, 2008 - Keep Your Distance.........

Two weeks to the day since we left Las Vegas, and things are slowly returning to normal. While we're very glad to be back in upstate New York, the "moving thing" is getting a little tedious. If I've counted correctly, this makes 6 times in about 12 years. You'd think we'd have it down cold by now, but it's always a new experience. Hopefully, this will be the last time for a while. The good news is that we're back with family and in familiar surroundings. We miss the southwest, but the northeast is "home".
I captured this image in Rocky Mountain National Park on our way back to NY. While I was a safe distance away, a number of people were getting much to close with their small cameras and even smaller brains. The elk in the area were clearly getting nervous. Eventually, they simply moved out of range. In another area, I actually saw a guy chase a fairly large elk into the bushes. Are these people crazy or just stupid? I'd have paid real money to see the elk chasing this idiot back out of the bushes. Sometimes it's embarassing to be "human"...............
