Sept. 22, 2008 - Rooftop Gathering

Every now and then, the local seagull population gathers on neighboring rooftops for some kind of meeting or convention. There's lots of posturing and noisemaking, and then they all take off and fly in circles. After some more posturing and noisemaking, they take off again. It's quite a performance. Who knows - maybe they're nominating candidates to run for "Chief Seagull" or something. Aside from the fact that it reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock's old movie "The Birds", it's fairly entertaining.

I just hope that if they are picking new leadership, they're doing it in a more intelligent manner than we humans do. Come to think of it, they'd be hard-pressed to do it any worse.
