September 12, 2008 - A Really Big Flower

I'm not normally drawn to photographing flowers. I like looking at them well enough, but I've never viewed them as prime photographic subjects. These days, I'm having trouble figuring what exactly is "good" subject matter (but that's another story).

I found this particular specimen in my daughter's backyard. Now, I'm not exactly short (I'm 6' 6" tall). I took this image standing directly underneath this sucker and looking almost straight up at the sky. It ain't a classic, that's for sure. But I at least had a camera in my hand. That's half the battle, I guess.
